Accommodation in Monda
Marbella Design Academy is located in Monda, a beautiful Spanish village only 15 kilometres from the jet set town of Marbella and the Mediterranean Sea. This charming, white village offers students an authentic sense of traditional Spanish living with its squares framed with orange trees, palm trees, flowers and restaurants.
After tuition hours the students are able to participate in a variety of activity and sports on offer in the local area or they get together in the many restaurants in Monda were a menu of the day (3 corses+a drink) cost less than 10 euros. The countryside surrounding Monda is dominated by almond, olive and orange trees, dotted through with traditional white fincas and farms. The air is fresh and clean and the Spanish lifestyle relaxed and gently paced. With more than 300 warm and sunny days per year people spend the majority of their leisure time enjoying outdoor activities and the Spanish sun. Monda has a large public pool for all the residents to enjoy.
The Academy recommends that all students live in Monda, taking advantage of the close proximity to the Academy and the reasonable cost of living. Accommodation here is considerably cheaper than in Marbella. Monda is within easy walking distance from the Academy (200 metres approximately) so no transportation is needed. Monda has become a university town as 80% of the students live in Monda within close proximity of each other and welcomed by the local residents.
Although not necessary, it is great to have a car here as there are so much to see and do within a short distance of the Academy and Monda. Second hand cars are relative inexpensive in Spain too. Many students buy a second hand car, for use it during their time at the Academy and then sell it on again after graduation.

Accommodation in Marbella
Marbella is a popular coastal town with lots going on. It is known for its jet-set lifestyle, luxury branding, A-Z celebrities, restaurants and nightlife. As a result, accommodation here is more expensive than in Monda.
Whilst reliable and regular, owing to timetabling we would recommend that only students who wish to rent or buy a car choose to live in Marbella. As a general rule, students choose to live in Monda and visit Marbella at the week-ends.
