Marbella Town
Marbella is a small (100,000 Inhabitants), extremely clean and well kept town, which has become home to many foreigners, making it completely cosmopolitan. You cannot avoid making friends from all over the world. In the "Old Town", at the "Plaza de Naranjos" (Orange Square), you will find a hive of activity with many cafes, bars and restaurants, surrounded by orange trees, which gave the plaza its name.
Staying in Marbella one may be forgiven for feeling as if one is in a botanical garden as the town has been beautifully designed with many parks, palm trees, orange trees and a wide variety of colourful flowers arranged in fine beds.
The pedestrian promenade stretches the entire length of Marbella's beach. Here you can find many restaurants serving a wide range of international and Spanish specialities or even eat fresh sardines cooked in the traditional way on the beach.
Marbella is a lively town, the nightlife
starting around midnight and carrying on
until the early hours of the morning,
with everybody enjoying themselves to
the full. A wonderful place to be a
student
In the nearby harbour of Puerto Banús you can find your dream boats, an exclusive nightlife and "designer" shops. Puerto Banús and Marbella are easily accessible, and here students can find every kind of entertainment over the weekend. Just 10 minutes drive from the city centre and you are in the middle of the countryside with its small Spanish white pueblos.
Marbella is served by two airports, Malaga and Gibraltar, which are only 45 minutes drive along the highway.
The environment of Marbella is conducive both to successful academic achievement as well as a full social and sporting life. Whilst most accommodation
is situated in the quiet, beautiful "green belt" of Marbella, it is also close to Golf, Tennis, Swimming and Gym facilities.
Marbella Design Academy is within easy reach of important historical and cultural centres such as Seville, Cordoba and Granada, which accounts for the fiery character of the region. The combination of traditional and modern has generated a tremendous explosion of development and growth in the area. As a result of that, the South of Spain has now become a multicultural and dynamic society.
