Marbella Design Academy:  The Marbella Design Academy has an academic level that competes with some of the best design educations in the world. Our website features examples and slideshows of some of our students work which can illustrate this further for you.

Tuition in English and in Small Groups: All classes are held in English. They are also held in small groups thus allowing plenty of teacher-student interaction. This provides the opportunity for frequent one to one tuition, a significant factor contributing to the excellent academic results our students are able to achieve.

Students from all over the world: Students from around the globe come to study at Marbella Design Academy. They originate from more than 33 different countries. All of our students find great inspiration when studying alongside others of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds. They inspire each other through working on their design projects in an international cross-cultural atmosphere.

New 2.000m2 Academic Building: The newly developed Marbella Design Academy building was completed in August 2008. It was designed entirely by the Founder herself and meets all of the stringent demands and requirements of a modern state recognised academy. The building has been approved by The Ministry of Education. Every facility imaginable is catered for.

Monda has many beautiful small squares, restaurants and bars. The town is surrounded by the stunning Spanish countryside, which offers a variety of leisure opportunities, such as horse riding, hiking, motor cross, football, basketball, flamenco dancing and Spanish guitar classes, to mention just a few locally.  In nearby Coin and Marbella you will find even more leisure facilities. Marbella is a lively, picturesque, cosmopolitan town, very well known for its jet-set, nightlife and beautiful beaches. There is a local bus service that runs frequently to and from Marbella, Malaga and other towns.

NEWS ! Free Spanish Classes: Marbella Design Academy are happy to announce that we will incorporate Spanish classes into the curriculum from the 15th of September 2010. Students, regardless of their chosen course, will benefit from Spanish Classes offered during the academic year throughout the length of their degree. The Spanish classes are FREE and voluntary.

We recommend this course to all our foreign students. It is great to be able to speak Spanish. It is also a lifetime investment and far easier to learn while you are here in Spain.

To enter this course, please register to the Secretary Lorena within the first days at the Academy.
The classes are beginning in September each year.

3 levels: You have an option to choose either:
The beginner classes: Mondays and Wednesdays from 15.45 to 17.00. (September to June)
The advanced classes: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 15.45 to 17.00. (September to June)
The high advance classes: Fridays from 15.45 to 17.00. (September to December)
(The high advance class start in September 2011)

You will have to spend a small amount on the book used for the tuition. The book can be purchased with Lorena the secretary.

Entry requirements: The minimum application age is 17 years old. Our students at the Academy are between 17 and 40 years of age, the average age being around 23 years old. Entrance requires a high school diploma or a similar qualification. However, an exception to this rule may be made if a student displays artistic talent. To apply, please fill in the application form on our website: www.designschool.com.  If you have not heard from us within 5 working days after sending your application through, please contact us by phone or email.

Accommodation: Students tend to live primarily in rented accommodation in Monda or Marbella. Furnished accommodation, at all price levels, is available locally. Prices in Marbella range from 300Euros for a room, to 600Euros and above for an apartment per month. Accommodation in Monda is much cheaper and more convenient as Monda is only 3 to 5 min walk away from the Academy. We therefore recommend that all new students consider renting in Monda. A 2 bedroom apartment will cost around 400Euros per month, while a 4 to 5 bedroom fully furnished house in the village will only cost about 400 to 600Euros per month.  Alternatively, you could rent a Finca, a country style house on it´s own small plot of land, for around 400 to 600Euros per month – usually filled with orange, almond and olive trees. Most of our students who share accommodation pay on average around 200 Euros per month each.

For rental advice in Monda, please contact Karen: +34 690 096 336 (email: johnkarenbryn@yahoo.com) who will help you find the accommodation of your choice.

Transportation: Public transport is available from Monda to nearby cities and villages.

Grants: As the Marbella Design Academy - Costa del Sol is now fully State Recognised (CODE 29016884), most students will be able to obtain grants from their home countries in order to study at our Academy.

Jobs: Most of our students have jobs after study hours in the Marbella area. Many companies contact the Academy with job offers for our 2nd, 3rd year and graduate students.  We recommend that first year students wait until year two before looking for jobs in their respective fields. By this time their skills will have developed to a medium professional level.

Design Show and Student Exhibitions: Each year we hold an Exhibition-Design Show of all our students work. The Students Show and Exhibition is held in our stunning location at Camino Hoyanca in Monda. All of our exhibitions have been very successful. The Students work is judged, by the press and media as well as industry professionals. The standard of student work is always regarded as extremely high, and they are often head hunted by companies during the exhibition. Despite the current world crisis, we still manage to achieve a near hundred percent employment rate for our students upon graduation.
