"I value my college days and education. I started my graphic design career three and a half years ago when I became a student at the Marbella Design Academy. Today I have my own business. I have clients ranging from property developers to magazines and nightclubs. I have had the pleasure of working my way from an in-house designer to becoming the creative director. In the future I would like to offer students internships in my company. I am committed to good design and supporting the design revolution in southern Spain."

"Attending the Marbella Design

"I spent a year on the foundation
Interior Architecture course and
found it to be a wonderful
experience. I began the course not knowing
anything about architecture or how
to do plans and elevations and I
found that the one to one tuition
available at the college was so much
better than what I had experienced
when I studied Art and Design at
university in England. I left Spain
with an extremely heavy portfolio! I
really enjoyed my time there and
recommend the course to anyone
interested in Interior Architecture."

learn."

"Marbella Design Academy is designed
for students to enjoy as they learn
due to the friendly atmosphere. The academy is growing quickly and
soon will be able to enjoy a much
bigger facility to accommodate more
students but still keep small groups
for the interaction
amongst teacher and students."

"I learnt many things here, not only
how to draw, and give presentation,
but how to work on my own, and be
organized, and self-motivated. I met many people during those
years, at the school, and around
Marbella. I learnt Spanish, and I
got a job with an architect in the
second year."

"In a period of 4 month I have
been a guest student at Marbella
Design Academy, located in Spain. At my stay, I
have gained a lot. Compared to other schools, the
school fee here is very cheap.
That being said it is also a place, were it is
very easy to make some sort of
contacts and get related jobs in your spare time.
Quite a few students worked with
other designers and architects. As for
me, I got a job making the menu
and business cards for a restaurant nearby. I had a great time at the school
and made some good friends from
all over the
world.
I wouldn't trade it for anything."

"I have been a student at the
Marbella Design Academy for
three years. I was so delighted to find a
design academy on the Costa del
Sol. And I was very positively
surprised about the study plan.
It was very free but at the same
time very planned and structured
in the way that would make the
student learn the most. I also
liked the fact that people from
all over the world came to study
there. The Director of the school, Ms
Helle Byrn, was a great
inspiration for me, always being
positive and helping all the
students in any way she could."

Gwenn Vollmer
(Trier, Germany)
"My stay as a Guest student at
the Marbella Design Academy was
very interesting. It was
totally different from studying at University
in germany. When I went there I was very
surprised by the friendly
atmosphere at the school.
The Teachers and students were
working well together in a nice
and friendly atmosphere. In germany the critique about
projects, which everyone needs
to develop is based on putting
you down. At the Marbella Design
Academy the critique was
based on the developement and encouragement of the
students, which is great, because
this helps you much more than if
somenone tries to be over critical. In germany you get the
impression, that students
wouldn't learn anything in a
friendly atmosphere and that it
is necessary to put you down, but at
the academy my experience was
different! It showed me, that it
works when the environment
and the relationship between
teachers and students is nice and harmonius. I really learned a lot - things
that I think are very important
for interior architecture are not taught in Germany
- things like external and
internal - x perspective,
freehand drawing and presentation
skills. And now 1 1/2 years later working
on my diploma I'm very thankful
for what I learned at the
academy. I wouldn't want to miss the
experiences that I had during
my stay at the academy.
Thanks!"

"Hi Helle
I am back in the US now living in
Montana and am starting up my own
business doing graphic and media
design. I will also be providing CAD
and 3D imaging services for the
local architects. There is a great
market here for that stuff. It is
one of the richest areas in the
state and development is continuing
to grow. We will be the first to
offer this service in this area.
Even though we had some
disagreements about the design
process I see that as being healthy
and educational. And the things I
learned from attending your school
have set me on my current path. I am
excited and glad.
Thank You!"
